Children's Art Day - and £50 seed funding...

Be one of the first 150 organisers to register a Children’s Art Day event for the chance to get £50 seed funding!

Children’s Art Day aims to inspire children, teachers and families to engage with the visual arts. Organisers across the UK are invited to devise participatory visual arts events, and will receive support from engage to run and publicise their events, and balloons and stickers. You can now register your event, which must take place between 12-18 July, on the engage website. It's free to register and the first 150 organisers to do so will be eligible to apply for a grant of £50. There are still a few grants available- register as early as possible to be in with a chance!

Children’s Art Day events should:
- Take place during the week 12-18 July, anywhere in the UK
- Be aimed at under-19s and/or families
- Be participatory visual arts events
- Be free to participate in.

Registration deadline: 11 June 2010. Once your event has been approved you’ll be able to edit the details until 25 June 2010.

In 2009 more than 230 Children's Art Day events took place across the UK involving some 50,000 children, young people and adults, in galleries, schools and community settings. Click here  to find out more.

Children's Art Day takes place during Shine, a national festival celebrating talent in young people - website here which culminates in a week-long festival from 12-16 July. Children's Art Day is an annual initiative run by engage and is supported by the Mayor of London and the Clore Duffield Foundation.
