Take part in innovative youth leadership program, Changemakers
Changemakers invites you to apply to participate in a fully funded project to support youth engagement in Berwick upon Tweed (Northumberland), and Scotswood (Newcastle upon Tyne).
Changemakers, a charity working to unlock the leadership potential of young people, has secured Big Lottery funding to support projects within the Cultural Sector. We aim to help to improve effective engagement of young people in local organisations.
I hope you will agree that this programme represents an exciting opportunity for you to not only develop your youth engagement practice, but also to work alongside other organisations in the region who share a common agenda around empowering and engaging young people.
How does it work?
* Changemakers places a young person, called a changemaker, within your organisation to lead on a project which will support you to engage with young people.
* Your changemaker is paid by us to work for 10 days over a six month period.
* There is an expectation that the host organisation will pay minimal expenses for their changemaker.
* The project is defined by you, and lead by your changemaker.
Changemakers supports you every step of the way, providing a specialist facilitator and programme manager, in addition to delivering a supporting programme of training events.
If you are interested in getting involved in this innovative programme, or would like further information please email Kate@changemakers.org.uk or call 0191 226 7330.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kate Larkin
