Funding for innovative public health and social care projects
Health Innovation Education Clusters5 (HIECs) are collaborative partnerships between NHS organisations, academia and industry. They aim to transform healthcare and drive up quality in order to continually improve patient care, safety, outcomes and experience.
They are looking to fund innovative ideas that will promote excellence in care and reduce health inequalities in the region. They are looking for ideas that have the potential for widespread diffusion, would promote best practice and improve productivity. Ideas must relate to public health and social care issues, be based in the North East. Funding will be awarded to help implement and disseminate your ideas.
The funding is available to those working in the NHS, academia, industry or the third sector. Applications that support one or more of the key themes in the health and wellbeing strategy for the North East ‘Better Health, Fairer Health6' will be given priority.
Funding is for up to £50,000 per project. However, there will be discretion to fund up to £100,000 for exceptional projects. If you'd be interested in putting together a collaborative bid- for example to look at regional dissemination- contact jo.whaley@vonne.org.uk at VONNE.
Closing date is Monday 31st January 2011
