The NUBS Management Consultancy project will involve a team of 3 or 4 students spending the equivalent of 1 day per week, over a period of 8 to 10 weeks, with an enterprise working on a specific project acting as consultants and providing advice to the organisations top management. The purpose of the NUBS Management Consultancy project is to give social enterprises the opportunity to gain new insights from a different business perspective on a project or business issue, while providing MBA students with the chance to apply their learning in a real business environment. The NUBS MBA course, which has been ranked among the worlds' top MBA programmes, is a rigorous one-year programme for experienced managers, designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage businesses more effectively in uncertain and difficult business environments. MBA students, who possess on average 7 years work experience, come from a variety of business backgrounds, ranging from IT, to banking, to the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector - making the NUBS Management Consultancy project an excellent opportunity for North East social enterprises to access sound business advice in the challenging times facing the sector. Organisations that wish to benefit from the NUBS Management Consultancy project must demonstrate certain criteria: * The organisation must have 10+ employees * The project the organisation wishes its student consultants to work on must clear and achievable objectives * The organisation must be willing to give sufficient access to materials and set aside time to meet with students * The organisation must be accessible by public transport (normally a radius of 1 hours travel from Newcastle upon Tyne) The projects will run through April and May. At the end of the project, organisations will receive a detailed report providing an external overview of their project and how to approach issues of concern with regards to the project.
